Post PAX West summary, Boomstock 2026 & UtA 1.0. estimate release date
2026-09-17Dear Travellers, The wait is almost over. PAX West has concluded, got back home and crunching the 1.0. public update which is expected to go live in roughly 4-6 weeks. Currently aiming for October 15th or 26th, so mark those calendars. This year's PAX West was packed and intense. And I'm extremely proud to say, Boss Rush Network recognized UtA with the Game of the Show award at this years PAX West!!! https://bossrush.net/2026/09/pax-west-2026-boss-rush-network-presents-inaugural-game-of-show-awards-to-stand-out-titles/

Given this opportunity, I'd like to give a heartfelt shoutout to all the awesome people who stopped by, Indie Games Polska, Valve for the Steam Decks for the show and Adil for the very nice and informative chat, IPK, Shawn at Evolve PR (you rock dude!), Boss Rush Network, Cheap Ass Gamer, Critiquing Doge, Hawking Around, Josh and HeyPoorPlayer, PAX Creator Stage (Jenna & Clair), Just the Gems, Jake @ FixGamingChannel and all the other devs, legends and colleagues who helped make the Polish booth a success. Otsukaresama deshita! Now it's back to reality, but not without another snippet of good news. Boomstock is starting today and with it the open beta is getting an accompanying update: filled with Post PAX tweaks and of course quick access to the Boomstock theatre level and destruction playground. This will be available until UtA leaves Early Access. To access it simply interact with the ledger or locket in the safe-room start screen to be teleported to this explosive setpiece level. The destruction playground can be accessed by taking the secret entrance after the second stage under the terrace at the end, instead of taking the main exit on the right. Without beating about the bush, last few months were crunch-filled and exhausting, usually with work starting at 10AM and finishing at 4-5AM, usually 7 days a week which also took a toll on my personal life and relationships. So now, besides work I need to focus on those closest to me and spend more time with them, to recover from burnout and get back in the fast-lane. So I'm estimating more work will be needed post 1.0. with the help of your feedback. However given the feedback at PAX, I'll take the cautiously optimistic assumption that the game is ready for release. It will never be perfect, given its scope, size and fact that I'm a solo developer: however UtA should give those looking for a no-handholding adventure, a one of a kind audio-visual trip with intense combat encounters, with dozens of hours to discover all nooks and crannies Crests Edge and the Township of Westfall have to offer. And last but not least: 1.0 price. Let me know what you think: -keep it the same, -or bump it up slightly given the huge amount of content which was added in the meantime (by circa 1-2 USD so around 12-13 USD) -bring it in line with Neckbreak (15.99 USD) -- So that's it for this one. Thanks for tuning in and till the next one, Cheers, Mike PS.
