Very pricey but the gameplay has multiple layers. It's like Patrician 3 but with a 4X game going in the background. Supply and demand, wars, combat, diplomacy, rebellions, competitors, You are essentially playing as the Spacing Guild from Dune. The UI needs work, some QOL features like hotkeys to pause or start the next turn are missing. Reducing the amount of clicks to trade would be nice in the beginning.

Do not enjoy. The menus are rather annoying since you cannot drag the tutorial around. The text on it's background is uncomfortable on my eyes personally. Perhaps will try this game another time but for now I'd rather have my thirty dollars instead of some mercantile 4x rpg where you start as a single ship.

So I start off with an old rustbucket and the tutorial is nattering in my ears about installing ship modules. I accidentally close the tutorial. I don't know what to do so I pick up a load of "research documents" and then travel to a nearby star hoping there's a market for them. There is and I make a tidy profit. So I am slightly less broke.
