Thundering Skies

I would still rather play the legendary Gaiares, Thunderforce III & IV for the SEGA Genesis though Thundering Skies is not terrible. A side scrolling shooter that arguably needs some work. More than enough content for the price. Multiple weapons which can be powered up. Good effort.

Thundering Skies is a shoot'em up inspired by the 16-bit classics of the genre. You control a space ship, the best one ever made, your goal is to destroy all the enimies and bosses to save everyone. The graphics are exactly what you see, no big secret here, the soundtrack is also good, this game reminded me a lot of those old games i used to play when i was a kid in those chinese consoles, and i used to love them...

Thundering Skies is a side scrolling retro 2D pixel sci-fi shmup. Hold down the fire button and dodge the bullets, kill the bosses to finish the levels, etc etc. Gameplay isn't terrible but it's not great either. The retro pixel graphics are terrible. Resolution is fixed, and controls can't be customised. It looks like the developers really were trying, at least, but the game falls short of minimum standards.
