Fantasy RPG graphics and story, competitive solitaire with poker hands gameplay... Scratched that "just one more Freecell game" itch for me, good to play a few battles while half watching a movie in the living room :P Took a whole third time playing through the entire game (with a checklist spreadsheet of each battle to make damn sure) to get the "all battles cleared" cheevo, this was a worthwhile 100%er but boy...

if u like card based RPG type game well this is hidden gem for u You build poker hands while also using magic and stealing cards from opponent Art style is pretty good and few of Norse mythology for this price u will get a really solid experience

Take one part Faerie Solitaire and two parts Puzzle Quest and mix in a little Poker or Yahtzee for good measure and you will get something like Runespell: Overture. You're a changeling of some sort and you fight monsters and take quests in exchange for coin and buffs (which come in the form of power-up cards). I kept shelving and retrying this game over like 5 years, always forgetting why I stopped playing it before digging it out of the rubble of my steam library a year later and then getting frustrated, deinstalling it and repeating the cycle. The core concept of this game is essentially solitare poker againt the AI. Matching varying combinations of cards will inflict damage against the AI (and AI to you). The damage will increase the better the combiation, from two of a kind to a royal flush. Honestly, cards and poker were never my stuff. And so is this game. However, that won't be fair for me to leave a negative review for the game. Because for the card lovers, i can't say its a must have but surely, its a one time give-it-a-go. Its nowhere different than microsoft windows 98 version of card game. Where your screen was rained with deck of cards at the end of winning it. They just mixed some story of evil...

FreeCell Solitaire Poker. Interesting at Start, barely midway gradually gets boring. Repetitive gameplay. Alittle too much to read, with options that does nothing. Overly aggressive or smart AI opponent. Grind to accumulate enough credits to purchase heals, fears and thunder. Staying ingame for 20 straight battles achievement at the beginning already wore me out. Look up guide and tips, to not miss out battles...

The core combat of making poker hands to fight enemies is pretty fun. The game is very shallow and has a very lackluster story with choices that impact absolutely nothing. Get it on a sale or from a bundle.
