I have an RTX 2080. I remember buying a HP laptop from Bestbuy with 4Mb of Vram and the only two games I installed on it to play were Fallout 2 and Jagged Alliance 2. This is one of the best top-down ISO strategy tactical RPG's of all time. Times have changed, technology has changes. How much I love to play this game hasn't. I'll stop playing Cyberpunk 2077 just to switch over an play JA2.

Played the game way back when it was released spend countless hours playing it, bought it again on steam and binged 80 hrs in 2 weeks. Still after all these years, it's still one of the best games i've ever played and I can't get my head around the fact, that there hasn't been a real successor. Best game ever! Buy the game from GOG You can play without problem, it works on Win11. Only download this: https://github.com/FunkyFr3sh/cnc-ddraw/ 1) Download 2) Decompress in the root game folder, next to ja2.exe 3) Play JG2 You don't need anything else. If you want to try something different, use Stracciatella, 1.13 or any other variation of JA2. Stracciatella may introduce more bugs.

One of the best turn based strategy games out there. Even though it's an old game, it still holds up today, and you can even enjoy it without nostalgia glasses. JA2 is the high point of the series thus far although JA3 did a decent job but alas its still not as great as JA2. Hopefully somebody will move the series forward and make good improvements. Anyway JA2 is indeed worth playing. I would highly suggest playing it as the original devs made it (vanilla). Once you have played through it at least once to the end then try the v1.13 mod. It was hard work to get into this game, but I'm glad I did. On about the third attempt, I lasted long enough to get over the initial hump, and then it was great.

Much imitated and never replicated. This is the ♥♥♥♥. None of its sequels or spiritual successors ever got close to replicating Jagged Alliance 2. Great writing, great gameplay, great setting. It's a must play, doubly so with 1.13 mod.

Classic, my childhood, so good for its time. But if you want to play this great game I would get it elsewhere, gog game preservation something or other... as these steam versions will just give you hard time.. I cant even get UB to launch so... "This be like Hide 'n' Search eh? but with the guns... Oh, don't you worry, La Malice will find them."
