You don't often see a polished, good-looking, fun game like this get a bad rep. until you check and see this reboot got absolutely destroyed by 40 y/o snowflakes mad at a character not being oversexualized like in the 90's or not being insanely difficult to beat like in the 90's. It is an amazing beat 'em up, bullet hell, puzzle, parkour game tho

The game brings back memories from the good ol' couch gaming. On the hardest difficulty it is an extreme challenge, especially in coop. Great challenges, game modes, good laughs.

Right, so apparently I'm one of the few people who grew up with the original Battletoads AND actually loves this reboot. This is what you put on for the kids before introducing the proper stuff. Then they announce the reboot was better, and you have to sit them down for the talk - the one where you explain that you love them, but you're deeply, deeply disappointed. The way I see it, we could've had two things....

The main beat em up combat is fun. Good variety of enemies but some parts feels a bit unbalanced. Some of the other game modes needs more balancing too. Love the hand drawn artstyle but the Dark Queen outfit redesign doesn't fit her character. Her personality is on point at least. The other characters are well done and are on point. The older Battletoads games are hard but great. Battletoads (2020) is an decent...
