Story (3.5/5): Story was dragged, but interesting to follow. Following the clash between the enemy soldiers, the Trigens, and the player and how it evolves is fun. for someone like me who never had any interest in FarCry games, Crytek did a really good job with this game, for 2004 that's really cool.

Far Cry 1 – A pretty 2004 tech demo, but not a game I want to come back to Far Cry 1 disappointed me. Is this a good game? Not really. Was it a good game when it released? Yeah, probably. Playing Far Cry 1 in 2026 won't really give you any "wow" moments because even though it might have been a good game when it came out, it's just very outdated today. The story gets a bit interesting later on in the game but the early story and dialogue feel kind of boring. But hey, at least Valerie calls us a good boy :) Moving...

It's an older game, but it's the best Far Cry until you get to Far Cry 5. It was a surprisingly "advanced" gaming experience for its day. Very good game.

Honestly, didnt age well at all, story is okay, dialogue is cheesy, gunplay is okay, ENEMIES ARE BROKEN on medium, just because a npc has a helmet doesnt mean he should be able to tank the burst volley of bullets against his head. also the last arena fight was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. but I beat it.

The game is pretty broken out of the gate.. HOWEVER- you can mod the game a LOT because the scripting is done through Lua. I've already gone in and changed things I thought would make the experience better. :D

Good game for over 20 years old, my thoughts about the game there is alot of isssues with the ais code so be ready for bs deaths every now and then, the game runs great not to many performance issues or 3rd party fixes needed, the biggest issue is the old code the ai do wierd things sometimes like shoot through walls that you cannot normally shoot through or becoming alert when your unmoving/crouching or hidden,...

I’ve always wanted to play the Far Cry series properly, and with the recent Ubisoft sale I finally decided to start from the beginning. Still in 2026, this game is still very enjoyable. Could not stop playing the campaign ontil finished. Be careful around difficulty. "Medium" is the way to go first time. "Challenging" you can do another time, cause that ♥♥♥♥ is hard :) 8.5/10 game, and probably 10/10 for the time it was created.
