Time Loader Development Update
2021-05-14Hello! It’s been quite a while since you’ve last heard from us. The development of Time Loader is processing smoothly, and we are working hard on finishing the game as soon as possible. In the meantime, we’d love to give everyone an update about the new stuff that we are working on! So without further ado, let’s begin! New Levels The most important part of our development process is the creation of new levels and puzzles. And we’ve made lots of progress in that part for sure! Our internal version of the game currently has about 12 locations, which will turn into fleshed-out levels. While we say 12, this number has a small twist: since Time Loader is a game about time traveling, expect levels to feature ‘variations’. How will they vary, you ask? Let’s take our basement level as an example.

See? This is a pretty basic example, but it does get the idea across. In one timeline, the basement is all good and fine. In another — flooded. How did this happen is a question that you’ll have to find an answer for. We’d love to show you another example, but we don’t want to get any spoilers out before the game comes out :). Game Mechanics This one's a bit trickier. We’ve added a thing called ‘air controls’ to the game. So you know that controlling objects mid-air in games could be a tricky process, right? That’s where air controls come in to help! They aren’t featured in the game’s prologue yet, but they make almost a night and day difference in the actual gameplay. IF we tried to explain, it is basically an ability to have a bit more control of the character mid-air, which helps a lot with precise and quick jumps. Of course, it’s not the only thing we are making. We are constantly working on new puzzles and interactions between objects to add as much variation to the gameplay as possible, and it’s not a trivial task for sure. If you’ve seen our previous blog about the story of the game (you can find it here if you didn’t), you know about our creation process. So that’s why finding good things that will fit inside the game’s atmosphere is a bit tricky but very doable. These will work in the form of upgrades! Remember the screwdriver and upgraded springs? Think that, but with another twist. What else can be attached to a robot’s body to help him get through the house and many obstacles around it? You might have seen the grappling hook on our Twitter (if you didn’t, move your eyes a bit lower), which will allow you to grab on some objects and pull yourself forward. There are others as well! While we don’t want to reveal all our cards right now, let’s just say that you’ll also be able to closely interact with electronics as well :). We’d really love to tell you more stuff about the game, but it’s time for us to wrap this little update up! Make sure to follow our Twitter if you’d like to see weekly gameplay clips from our development version of the game. And don’t forget to wishlist Time Loader and try the Prologue!
