A cinematic platformer in the vein of games like Prince of Persia, Another World and Flashback. This was the first game I ever owned on the PS1. I enjoyed it back then and had no issue with this PC port. It ran well on my Steam Deck. I had to tweak the controls a bit and it showed only keyboard controls but nothing that makes the game unplayable.

I played this when I was like 5 back in the late 90's. Funny how much you remember even though you haven't seen/played it in almost 30 years.

Nostalgia carries this a long way, but the brutally trial-and-error gameplay and clunky 'gamespeak' mechanics haven't aged all that gracefully. The atmospheric world-building and creepy tone are still top-tier, but actually playing it nowadays feels more like a chore than an adventure. Worth a deep-sale look if you love retro classics, but expect to lean heavily on quicksaves.

I played this a lot as a child. Yeah, definitely not the demographic, but when I got older, I found the game has a rythm and flow. Gone are the frustrations I once struggled with. A legendary game, with probably one of the best instances of worldbuilding I've ever seen. The games "speaking system" and platforming is still engaging decades later. The completion aspect of the game can feel a bit dated, but the game is satisfying simply due to the puzzles, world, environment and sheer weirdness of everything. It also has some pulse quickening, heart pounding chase sequences that are really fun....
