i just got this game and played the how to play and i think the game feels really nice and has good mechanics i am confused on how to start a proper game tho

Great local multiplayer game for family especially if you have kids. However, fantastic game overall and the more players the better! Steam's Remote Play Together makes it so you can enjoy this game with your friends over the internet as well!
