out of the box this actually plays pretty well, but you still should use the fusion fix and music restore mod - 2gb of original music missing in the pc version... i also use the PS2 visual edition mod, which brings some og PS2 graphical features back and the PS2 car camera position mod. steam says the game has no controller support - which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. my xbox con works totally fine. you just need to change the input...

You can still play this game with a PS5 Controller even though it says it is not supported. Its an older game, but still holds up very well. There is a lot of cars to collect, car customizations, missions, side missions, and places to explore. The story is easy to follow. You can complete the game in 10-14 hours.

I remember picking this game up when blockbuster was still around, and I did enjoy the game. Now? It definitely shows its age but I still have fun playing it. It was definitely an improvement over Driv3r, while the story is pretty straight forward, so I can see why some have mentioned its meh. Driver: Parallel Lines was average 20 years ago but is pretty bad by 2026 standards. But, if you want to embrace some 70s and early 2000s nostalgia it wouldn't hurt to pick it up on sale. It's pretty goofy and isn't too long but you'll probably get a solid 6 - 7 hours of fun out of it.

Long story short: Driver: Parallel Lines is in every aspect an average game for its time. That‘s also the reason I don‘t recommend it: it‘s too generic, the plot is extremely flat, and all the mechanics like shooting and driving can also be summarized as average at best. This is the third Driver game I've tried, and I'm so disappointed. everything about this game is boring the story, the cutscenes, the characters, the world... the only thing I really enjoyed was the driving. despite that I couldn't finish it Driver 3 is the best imo
