Half-Life 2

Absolutely legendary game, still amazing in 2026 with super fluid gameplay and atmospheres that feel incredibly liminal if you like that vibe. So good I replay it every so often and torture myself getting those incredibly difficult achievements like "Keep off the Sand!" where you can't touch the sand for a WHOLE lvl or "Go get some grub" where you gotta squash bugs XD

I finally played and finished this landmark shooter—one I had skipped for years and its still quite enjoyable to play even in 2026. It really is an all-time classic, my personal rating for the game is 9/10. Its ironic that it took me 22 hours to fully complete the game.

9/10 The driving sections were very fun and hitting the jumps is very enjoyable. The boat sections were dope as well. Sound design is very good. Enemies we're fun to fight including the small bosses nothing crazy though. There was only one bug that occured when I was in a train filled with stalker type enemies and Alyx's pathfinding broke or bugged out but besides that the game is very stable and very functional....

What more can be said? Absolute masterpiece. Half-Life 2 elevated FPS and gaming in general to a level that is pretty difficult to match, and that's probably why there's still no Half-Life 3 as of 2026. As an FPS, it lets the gameplay tell its story with practically no interruptions, and it introduces new concepts like weapons and enemies fantastically by providing the right situations for you to experiment with...

Half-Life 2 is one of the all time greats. Unmatched worldbuilding, good mix of HL1 style throwback as well as new environments, enemies, and gameplay. I've played HL2 through at least twice before, but over 10 years ago. Of course I remembered much of the main story, the helplessness when arriving in city17 initially and facing the can guard. I originally pirated this game, then finished it and it's expansions. It was so good, that I bought The Orange Box on Steam AND The Orange Box for the XBOX 360, now it's one of my holy grails. P.S.: I stopped pirating games, now I have the money to buy the games I already loved to pay back to the Developers.
