A nice 3D remake (ported from the psp although, it originally came out on the ds) that would otherwise became the legit way to play it before the pixel remaster. The extra content is nice to have as well but a couple of achievements can be a bit of a pain (about a handful of jobs maxed out as of this review). What a treat to be able to play this version, which was originally released for the Nintendo DS. I must admit I never managed to finish it back in the day. The difficulty curve is very steep, and on many occasions, I had to resort to guides and videos to progress through the story. I genuinely do love this game its so adorable and the story could be improved its a typic FF game with dark and evil good and light, i think this could be amazing with modern graphics and modern turn based combat. The grind is something that needs improvement as their is an achievement called jack of all trades where you to have every single class job leveled at 99, which is insane and very punishing and should not...

The 3D remake of Final Fantasy 3 is a great, challenging, visually stunning (for the Nintendo DS) video game that actually outright DOES NOT BOOT UP on Steam if your system is modern enough. If you can somehow find/afford the original DS cartridge, definitely play that version (or take to the high seas). But don't waste your money on the Steam port unless you have a surefire way to make the executable actually turn...

I played the Pixel Remaster before this and it kind of ruined my experience with the 3D remake because the battles in the remake are very slow from start to finish. I'd still recommend the game as it does have its merits, as I did enjoy having the added personality for each character and their relationships with others in the world.

6/10 - The 3DS style doesn't work too well on PC, and the game feels clunky overall. While I love job systems, this is one of the worst implementations in the series, in my opinion. Also - prepare for one of the worst achievements in history. "Get all jobs to level 99 for all characters".
