As with Hexcells OG, I wasn't a big fan of the mistake system. It just takes a fair bit of extra time to 100% the game, which was a little annoying and tedious. All the same, it is a clever and fun puzzle game. The 3hrs on review is misleading, by the way, I used a guide because I wanted to just 100% this one and move on. I'm very late to the party but this game was both relaxing and challenging at once, which was exactly what I needed. I can only emphatically recommend this game. I enjoyed it - it was a good puzzle game, and really makes you work for it. Occasionally infuriating. Don't play if you like "cozy" games. Though there's no clock, no action, you *have* to use your brain pretty heavily on a lot of it, so you need to be pretty fully engaged. (No idea how I made it up to 90 hours in this game, I must have left it sitting open... for days...) A solid continuation of Hexcells. The ending few levels are quite brutal.

I find this game to be a thoroughly enjoyable time sink. Sometimes I will let my wife drive us when we're going somewhere just so I can play this on my steam deck to pass time.

Preserves all the goodness of the first game and kicks difficulty up a notch. No mistakes solve for everything is considerably meatier undertaking.

the one major issue i have with the entire series is that my brain is unable to sometimes click the correct button i want. i know what i want to do - but my brain just clicks the other mouse button and i get a mistake and have to redo the entire level. or my hand twitches and i click the wrong cell also i think some of the puzzles are too hard. i like applying rules, but this one leans too much into the "what if"...

I enjoyed the original Hexcells, but I think the majority of the puzzles in Plus, especially later levels, lack craftmanship and are just unenjoyable to play. The progression felt like it was just "more ♥♥♥♥ thrown on the screen" to obfuscate straightforward, basic logic, rather than exploring any interesting ways for puzzle layouts and rules to interact with each other.
