Although this HOG is getting pretty long in the tooth it does have it's upsides. The graphics may be dated but the game is very atmospheric and I did enjoy the bit of story that went along with it. Good search adventure. Works with touch screen, but sometimes using "tools" is best left to touch pad or mouse. If the Steam version does not work on your system contact Mumbo Jumbo and get the non-steam version.

The first installment of Midnight Mysteries covers 3 strands of narratives woven together at the end, all of them touching some of the stories and features of Edgar Allen Poe. It is a more or less search and find game with a minimal addition of other puzzles. I played this after playing the second game in the series. I will say that it does answer some questions I had with the second game. The story was good, but it somehow made a linear game seem even more linear. You can't explore like you usually can with HOGs. A hidden object game that didn't really stand the test of time really well, both graphically and gameplay wise. Whether or not to get this piece depends on your own personal preferences really. Unlike standard HOG types, this piece I would say is predominantly filled with HOG's with a light sprinkle of easy puzzles in between. If you're the type that prefers just doing HOG without the hassle of solving puzzles, then this would fit your bill very well.
