The best RPGMaker game I've played. A good 70/100 effort. The good Surpringly deep story Uses the RPGMaker assets well Compelling in its own little way Some suitably dark moments The bad Music is minimalist and occasionally annoying Lots of backtracking Can get stuck wondering what to do next or where to go Combat can lack challenges

I enjoyed this game, though I failed to get 100%. I didn't find one black pawn, but found an additional white knight???? Weird. :D But anyway, it wasn't fantastic or anything, but not bad. :) Ran fine. Almost no bugs showed up for me. :) All in all, time enjoyably spent.

I really wanted to like this game. The character art is good, the story isn't breaking any new ground but it's fairly competently executed, and I thought the idea of a JRPG set in a single building and grounds, where you kept getting new exploration tools to open up secrets metroidvania-style, was kind of interesting. I really liked this game. I have a lot of RPG Maker type games, and this one managed to stand out. The whole Lovecraft vibe is very well presented and is one of my favorite things about this game. Creepy ancient monastery, weird characters with weird quirks, eerie sound effects- they all pull together to keep the mood slightly horrifying.
