I finally played through the entire game this time, only took me about 4 or so attempts througt the last 6 years. Main reason it took me so many tries is that the early game is really really rough, there's no good loot or merchants for the first 10 or so hours, after I got through into the mid-game I think it really started come into its own, however I have two big gripes with the game: 1)The Companions - So much...

The Enclave don't appeal to me as an antagonists, or otherwise, so I'll always prefer one, but this game is kind of better in every other regard. Just don't interact with super mutants.

Probably one of the best fallout games out there. Definitely my favorite out of the series. Classic fallouts have a pretty steep learning curve, but once you get around that and have the patience to carry on, then you'll agree with me that fallout and fallout 2 are really, really great. Highly recommend!! Yayyy!

Compared to the first game, Fallout 2 is a direct upgrade. More weapons, more armor, new companions. Funny, creative dialogue and a great story. The game is rather difficult from the beginning, but plateaus later on. While Fallout was a bit more bleak, Fallout 2 is more humorous and FULL of pop culture references. (Monty Python, Star Trek, Terminator....), which sometimes feels out of place, but I honestly enjoy...

9/10 A fantastic RPG not only for its time, but even to this day. It takes some getting used to, but the payoff is experiencing a game I'll remember for a long, long time. Playing this has only further entrenched my love for F:NV and made me respect FO3's valiant attempt to bring a similar atmosphere to a 3D space.

I absolutely love revisiting this childhood classic. Fallout 2 has also been a source humour for me personally for a very long time! I highly recommend it!

Compared to Fallout 1, it's 5x the size. Does have serious pacing issues and will need the Restoration Project to feel complete, but overall one of the greatest RPG games of all time. Play Fallout 1 first, before going into 2.

Fallout 2 is what RPGs these days are lacking. Real choice and consequence. It's unforgiving, It's a dark world and it's up you to decide how the "chosen one" will become. Fallout 4 may be more technically and aesthetically appealing but the narrative and writing of this game beats fallout 4 to me. If you love fallout 3, New Vegas and 4 this game is worth your time in my opinion if you can get past it being 30 years...
