CompareBlaster Shooter GunGuy is a 2D action rage platformer. Similar in nature to games such as IWBTG. But also inspired by Mega Man and Mega Man X.

Update 1.2 Partial Controller Support. Updated Audio in some locations. Invincibility frames increased to .5 seconds (Up from .25). Desert Vultures health pool reduced to 2 (Down from 4). Difficulty curve for World 1-4 adjusted to be more in line with the rest of the game. New audio clip upon unlocking a character.

This game is a standard shooter game, however it is heavily flawed. The very first thing i saw that was horribly wrong was the main menu. After a basic title screen with flashing instructions it greets me with a boring new / load game select screen with; Default font. No background or imagery. And no music, which actually feels like somewhat of a relief as you will see. - The music sounds like overused stock loops...

UPDATE: Between the developer's defensive response and the apparently toxic culture surrounding the platform hell subgenre, I have decided to leave this review up as is. A wannabe "I wanna be the guy" - Ripoff. The sprites are of extremely low quality, the controls are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ beyond believe, the level design is baby-tier (not the difficulty but the layout). It feels lifeless, it feels boring, it's garbage.

No thanks! Game is built to piss you off. Yes, it's advertised as such - But if I make and sell you a crap game, and label it a crap game, i'd still expect you to leave a negative review saying it's a crap game.

Games are supposed to entertain the players not frustrate them. Although I got this game for free, I cannot deny that this game is badly made. The difficult controls and the ridiculous level designs make the game almost impossible to play. The monsters are extremely hard to kill. I enjoyed the game a lot. Im a fan of platformer games that give a samll megaman feel exspecially with the boss fights! Def worth the price when its on sale! Pressing shift to dash makes me go a bit faster then expected, so I kind of run into bad things a lot. I try to avoid using the dash if and when I can. When you die you restart at the beginning. Not sure if there are any checkpoints mid level because I am still trying to get halfway through the first level lol. Was this made badly on purpose? God. Concept- Fine. Execution- Terrible. First things, there's no backstory. We're just randomly put in a desert searching for gems and the only proper interaction we have is with the wizard saying how to dash.
