I was completely unfamiliair with this game, even though I enjoy this genre. I bought it for 1 euro/dollar and for that price it is a decent game. Unfortunately, there are still quite a few bugs, but despite that, I'm really enjoying it.

I have easily put at least 1000 hours into Master of Magic over the years since I first opened the huge purple box with an eye on it almost 20 years ago. Likely far more. This is a game that is far more obviously the child of Master of Magic than many recent games have claimed. This is a game that I really want to like, however I find it hard to do so. To me, it seems like all of the pieces of a great game are there: 1) Different races, different armies 2) Detailed casting system 3) The ability to expand across the map and utilize resources that you find 4) Building cities and managing resources in a Civ like manner So why the negative review?
