I just want to play the game and enjoy the title as I have for every game in the series for more than a decade. Instead I have to sign up for membership to UBI. I thought my steam account would be enough. The seller should give an option to bypass ubi and just play the game. Should you open an account with UBI, does not make the purchaser entitled to play the game regardless. Hey Steam, I suggest not selling...

If you think about buying this game in order to get into submarine simulators, then I will give you simple anwser: don't. It's totally not worth it; instead go and buy Silent Hunter 3 or 4 (choose U-Boat Missions since it's patched up version with the DLC). I'm saying all the negative things about the game as someone who played it as a kid back when it was released in 2010 and it introduced me to SH series. Back...

Broken and unplayable unless you are willing to mod it. Only get it on some kind of mega sale (It's $2.50 right now) and use The Wolves of Steel mod.

TWOS mod required, makes the game godly with bugs that have workarounds if you have the slightest amount of problem solving skill

Very disappointed with Steam but the game is good after you fix it yourself. Something to be aware of is this game in most cases WILL NOT PLAY after download from Steam without jumping through some hoops. You will most likely have to fix the problems with this game yourself which is unsatisfactory but guess there's no way around that. Used to be acceptable (once modded) to play. Now it's been removed from Ubisoft's supported games and so can't be launched directly from Steam as it never connects (there's nothing to connect to). It is possible to download Ubisoft Connect from the Ubisoft site directly which technically allows you to bypass this, however it demands the CD Key (options for game on Steam has this), however, when you enter it, it says...
