Hey everyone, Hope you have been trying out and enjoying the recent Steam Workshop support for Amnesia: The Dark Descent. There are already over 180 (!) mods available to try out - this is truly insane and we are so happy to see the community engaged after all these years! So, today we’re enabling Total Conversion support for the workshop as well, meaning you can go buck wild with the mods, if you want to. Today we’re also launching the anticipated Halloween Update for Amnesia: The Bunker! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1944430/Amnesia_The_Bunker/ This update brings a bunch of new features, adding new horrors and heaps of replay value. If you've beaten the game once you can challenge yourself with the new Shell Shock mode - or play around with the settings in Custom Mode. for $2 on sale, it was a great game, for 2026 it doesn't really hold up but I still had a great time, only gripe is the cutscenes that flash white which is pretty aggravating at night & being forced to walk while hearing flashbacks esp when getting chased. Id still recommend to play this just to experience it once

Just 100%ed the game, so here is my take: For a 16-year-old game, it holds up very well. The graphics are definitely dated, but gameplay > graphics all day. Honestly, I scared the absolute crap out of myself. The first playthrough was genuinely terrifying. Pro tip: play in a dark room with headphones, otherwise you're missing out on half the experience. Also, the Justine DLC? Short, but it somehow scared me...

It's popular for a reason- play it! Brilliant storytelling and tense atmosphere, it is the perfect concoction for an AMAZING horror game

I always considered original Amnesia to be my one of the favorite horror games ever, but revisiting it 2026 well... It dosent holds up in terms of horror. Most of the horror is very scripted . Monsters are very basic, predictable and can be easily tricked. To the point I had monster dissapear in front of me just before the entrance to the next area.
