tl;dr get it on sale, it's good but pretty short (3 cups, 9+16+25 races, 3-5 laps, mostly 3). This is a dirt rally game, so the focus is on slippery serpantine hell rather than going fast on straight stretches of the road. It's very punishing, sometimes unfairly so (e.g. mild collision at slow speed + immovable object = comical car crash, shortcuts are more threatening than helpful, insane physics, etc) but it's not...

Nostalgia at its finest right here. It delivers if you remember it delivering all those years ago. Its also ridiculously refreshing to not have a 3rd party launcher, or have to connected to internet, or have to make it account. Old games over new games any day!

Please read. (4/10) Recommended, no. I came into flat-out with no nostalgia to this game or the series, So this was my first experience with the original game. Unfortunately, It didn't hold up particularly well for me. The biggest issue I had is the handling, The cars often feel heavy and unpredictable, Making races more frustrating than fun. The career can become repetitive, repeated maps and reversed ones too....

the only reason you can play this game now is for the nostalgia if you've played it while growing, with the sequel being so much better and working online ...

I'm still choosing this over FlatOut 2, but don't get me wrong, both of them are still masterpieces. I also hope this game gets the Ultimate Carnage treatment, even though I think it's already impossible for Bugbear to do that.

I love how punishing this game is with the driver. You really have to know the layout of the tracks, and how your car will handle on different surfaces, alongside being very aggresive against your opponents so you can come out on top. The stunts here weren't that great, they were still rough around the edges as they didn't make your camera slow down when you charged up the jump button. Still a great racing game...

I have 0 experience in Flatout, so i might be missing some mechanics and infos, but after a full playthrough this is what i can say : Pros : - Aged very very very well graphics wise - Its a fun little game - the tracks and different environments are pleasing Cons : - No real graphics settings so if your resolution is off you just have to deal with it - Controls stop working every 4 races, i could navigate the...

Still one helluva game! Works on ultrawide resolution natively, looks good, plays good. The destruction derby elements are there, but it's a racing game through-and-through.
