just an phenomenal game all around. one of the best first-person shooters of it's era and it still holds up extremely well. they just don't make games like this anymore. surely almost 20 years later this franchise would continue taking risks and breaking boundaries for how an fps game should be made, right? right?

It is a decent COD game, nothing particularly outstanding, to be honest, and I expected it to be a bit longer, as I finished it in 4 hours on average difficulty. good call of duty campaign but a bit lackluster in content and quality comparison to other cods such as WaW and black ops, but this is one of the oldest ones so it can be excused. this game is VERY DIFFICULT on veteran, the enemies have pseudo-aimbot and near instant reaction time, and many levels spawn enemies infinitely until the player decides to push forwards. heat is one of the hardest and most poorly designed...

I firmly believe that Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is one of the greatest games ever made. I have played this game's single player more times than I can count. This was my first CoD that I played with my neighbors as a kid on Xbox. Absolutely ICONIC campaign with some of the greatest voiceline quotes of the franchise. "50 thousand people used to live here...now it's a ghost town". The mission briefings and sound design is phenomenal for when this game came out. Only works with Promod but hands down the best game ever made for FPS. Make sure to play promod and this game is just bliss. Cant beat it.

I just decided to get into the old Call of Duty campaigns because I felt like I was missing an important piece of culture. I can confidently say that my feeling was right, because these campaigns are amazing.

Man, I wish I played this game when I was younger. COD 4 is such a hidden gem that I have heard of but never played until now! This has so much charm and memorable moments that I love in contrast to it's remaster. Great game 10/10

Great campaign story wise. The flinch mechanic is annoying and the NPC AI is terrible but what do you expect from a 20 year old game?
